Do you remember Rebecca Black? She practically broke the internet back in 2011 when she released her viral hit “Friday” at age 13.
Now she’s all grown up and has released a new single, called “Foolish.”
In an interview with Billboard she said “Maybe you do things you normally wouldn’t because of this person. I wanted it to capture what it’s really like when you’re 19. Love is real, and exciting, and weird and scary.”
She also spoke with the magazine about what she went through after releasing “Friday.” Even though the song has over 100 million views on Youtube, the attention she got from it wasn’t all positive.
“With ‘Friday,’ there was a lot of stuff I went through as a person and everything that came with it: the good, the bad, the ugly. It really affects someone. For anybody, the entertainment industry is a lot to a handle and, for a 13-year-old, I don’t know how anyone can come out unscathed.”
We support you, Rebecca! We still sing “Friday, Friday, Gotta get down on Friday” every week as the weekend approaches.
Check out “Foolish” below. If this song is well received look for more music from her this Summer.
And for those of you who forgot her first song, here’s Friday!
