Adele Sets New Billboard Record

Adele‘s album ’21’ came out in 6 years ago, but it’s still setting records. The latest one? Most weeks on the Billboard 200 chart for an album by a woman. It’s been on the chart every week since it debuted at #1 back in March of 2011.
The previous record holder was Carole King with Tapestry in 1971. That album was on the charts for 302 consecutive weeks from 1971 to 1977 (including 15 weeks at number 1).
Among all albums, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is still the longest charting album, having spent an unbelievable 927 weeks on the chart!
Billboard has also reported other huge albums spending more time on the charts than ’21.’ They are:
Johnny Mathis – Johnny’s Greatest Hits (490 weeks)
My Fair Lady original cast recording (480 weeks)
Bob Marley & The Wailers – Legend (463 weeks)
Journey – Greatest Hits (454 weeks)
Metallica – The Black Album (424 weeks)
Guns N’ Roses – Greatest Hits (393 weeks)
Nirvana – Nevermind (355 weeks)
