Kathy Griffin Apologizes, Still Loses Many Jobs
Kathy Griffin is one of many celebrities who have spoken out against Donald Trump, but this time, she took it too far.
TMZ has released a photo from a shoot the comedian did with photographer Tyler Shields, and it features Griffin holding the bloodied, detached head of the President.
In a video from the shoot, Griffin jokes that she will have to move to Mexico because she will be put in federal prison after these photos are released.
Sure enough, within hours of the photo surfacing Griffin issued a full apology. “I am sorry,” she captioned a video of her saying in the end the photo wasn’t funny. “I went too far. I was wrong.”
Regardless of how fast she apologized, there was still plenty of time for people on both ends of the political spectrum to slam Griffin’s photoshoot. She lost out on endorsement deals, her CNN New Year’s Eve hosting gig with Anderson Cooper, and even comedy shows that were scheduled at venues across the country.
This is far from over. We’ll save you from the photo that caused the controversy, we’re sure you’ll be able to find it elsewhere online. We can’t save you from her apology, having to look at her face without makeup on…yikes!
