Mary Tyler Moore Honored At Memorial
Dick Van Dyke, Valerie Harper, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Oprah Winfrey were among the big name stars who gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Mary Tyler Moore over the weekend. The 80 year old actress passed away back in January.
Van Dyke, who referred to Mary as his “work wife,” said that she was like his “Ginger Rogers.”
People reports the intimate memorial was held on Sunday at director James L. Brooks‘ home.
Mary was best known for starring in The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She also started her own MTM Productions and was involved in diabetes research and with Broadway Barks, a charity that has promoted shelter adoption and animal welfare.
Other who were there to pay their respects included Cloris Leachman, Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves, Bernadette Peters and Ed Asner.
