Cher To Star In Movie About Flint Water Crisis

Cher is going to return to the small screen in a new Lifetime movie about the Flint, Michigan water crisis. The singer and actress is working on a project about the disaster, which exposed residents to lead contaminated water when authorities switch the city’s water supply to a dirty river in 2014.
She told the Washington Post, “I’ve been involved with Flint since pretty much the beginning, so I think this is going to have merit.”
Cher reveals her movie Flint is modeled after Julia Roberts’ movie, Erin Brockovich, and is inspired by a Time magazine cover story about three women who tried to expose the mishandling of the city’s water supply.
The “Believe” singer has been an active voice for Flint residents affected by the water crisis and even sent more than 180,000 bottles of water to the area last year.
Production on the film begins in Toronto next month. No air date has been announced yet.
