Liam Payne’s Son’s Name Is …

A few weeks ago we let you know One Direction‘s Liam Payne and his girlfriend Cheryl Cole gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. At that time they hadn’t picked a name out yet. Now, a month later we have learned they have finally chosen a name.

And it is right up there with Apple or Blue Ivy.

The little boy’s name is Bear Payne. Some are speculating the name may have been inspired by TV survival expert Bear Grylls.

Grylls tweeted a link to a story about the baby’s name and wrote, “Great choice! Love & blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure.”

While Bear is an unusual name, a number of other celebrities have used it for their offspring: Kate Winslet‘s son is named Bear Blaze and Alicia Silverstone‘s son is Bear Blue.

So far this is the only public photo of Bear Payne:

My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless… wow! I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far. I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true. We haven't named him yet but he's already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed. Happy Mother's Day everyone!
