Prince Now Has His Own Shade Of Purple
When you think of the color purple, most people instantly think of Prince.
Now Prince’s estate and the Pantone Color Institute have teamed up to create the official color of the late Purple Rain singer.
The color, Love Symbol #2, is named after the symbol Prince infamously turned into his stage name in 1993.
The hue is based on the color of the icon’s custom purple piano.
Prince’s association with the color purple began in 1984.
According to Pantone, the Prince estate plans to use this color so that it can be “consistently replicated and maintain the same iconic status as the man himself.”
Prince died last year at the age of 57. So what does it look like? Take a look:
