American Idol Adds Lionel Richie As Judge

After months of speculation, it’s finally official! Lionel Richie is pulling up a chair to the judges table on American Idol.
He will be joining Katy Perry and Luke Bryan on the ABC reboot that will debut next year.
In a statement, Lionel said, “I am very excited to be joining Katy, Luke and Ryan Seacrest on American Idol. As a singer, songwriter and producer, I feel I can bring a great deal of experience to the table. It’s going to be so much fun!”
Katy tweeted she was “Dancing on the Ceiling” with excitement over Lionel joining the show.
