Kevin Spacey has just been named the host of the 71st Annual Tony Awards.  CBS made the announcement yesterday.

“I was their second choice for Usual Suspects, fourth choice for American Beauty and 15th choice to host this year’s Tony Awards. I think my career is definitely going in the right direction, maybe I can get shortlisted to host the Oscars if everyone else turns it down.” he joked in a statement.

The “House of Cards” actor won his first Tony for his performance in “Lost in Yonkers” back in 1991.

Last year, James Corden hosted and brought in the highest ratings since 2001.

Kevin was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night discussing it as well.    On Instagram he posted “Honored to host the #TonyAwards2017…fingers crossed all the envelopes are in order.”

The Tony nominations will be announced on May 2nd, and the show will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York on June 11 at 8 PM.  Will you be watching?
