Everyone has been talking about American Idol returning to TV next year, but now we have some news about The Voice for you.  Jennifer Hudson will be joining the Miley Cyrus as a coach on The Voice.

Jennifer most recently starred as a judge on the UK version of the show, and she will be moving back across the pond to replace Alicia Keys on the next season.

She will join Miley, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton later this year.

Announcing Hudson’s role on The Voice, NBC president Paul Telegdy told Billboard, “Jennifer is an extraordinary vocal talent and one of the premier voices of our time. She embodies the experience, expertise, positivity and sheer talent that The Voice stands for.

Jennifer also shared the news on Instagram: “In tears thinking of what this means and represents to me and knowing and walking the journey! Wow, who would of thought after being a contestant, that one day, I would be sitting in one of those chairs from the U.K. To the U.S!”

You’ll remember Jennifer competed on the third season of American Idol back in 2004.  She ended up losing to Fantasia Barrino.  (Who?!)

Congrats J-Hud!  We know you’ll kill it!
