You can magically transform bananas into creamy, dairy-free ice cream! Who knew?

All you need are frozen bananas and a food processor or blender, and the possibilities are endless. To start off, peel ripe bananas, cut them into coins and freeze in an airtight container for at least two hours, but ideally overnight. Then, whiz them up in a blender or food processor until the last bits of banana smooth out and you’re left with a custard-like texture.

If you want to mix in extra flavors, now’s the time. After you’ve reached your desired consistency, transfer the mixture into an airtight container and freeze until solid.

While the bananas pack in enough sweetness all by themselves, here are some of our favorite add-ins:

• Nutella
• Peanut Butter
• Cocoa Powder
• Honey
• Coconut milk
• Cold-brewed coffee
• Almond Butter
• Cookie Butter
• Chocolate Chips
• Cinnamon
• Vanilla (especially delicious when topped with chocolate drizzle!)
• Fresh fruit (strawberries, peaches, blueberries, watermelon, mangoes, pineapple)
