Cuba Gooding Sr. Dead At 72
Cuba Gooding, Sr., father of actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Omar Gooding and lead singer of The Main Ingredient, has died. He was 72. TMZ reports he was found unresponsive in his car in Woodland Hills, California and police suspect an overdose.
Gooding joined The Main Ingredient in 1971 and sang lead on the band’s most famous single “Everybody Plays The Fool.” He also embarked on a solo career and released two solo albums in 1977 before returning to The Main Ingredient in 1979.
In addition to Cuba and Omar, the elder Gooding is survived by his wife, Shirley, and his other children April and Tommy.
