Aretha Franklin Plans New Album With 3 Big Stars

What do Elton John, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder have in common? They are all going to appear on Aretha Franklin‘s new album.

The Queen of Soul spoke to Billboard about her upcoming album.

“Lionel’s working on his piece, Stevie’s working on his piece; they’re both original. I’m working on a couple of things.”

This will be Aretha’s first new album in 3 years. It is expected to be in stores next January.

Does she have plans to retire any time soon? The 75 year old singer says, she is “winding down” some tour dates.

“I’m not happy, exactly, about not doing something that you’ve been doing for 54 years that you really, really love. But there’s a warranty on everything. Nothing lasts forever.”

So if you have the opportunity to see Aretha in concert, take her up on it, it might be her last tour!
