Yoko Ono Sues Maker Of John Lemon Lemonade
What do you do when life gives you lemons? Take them to court. The widow of Beatles legend John Lennon was not very happy when she found out a soda company in Poland was selling a beverage called “John Lemon” lemonade.
Yoko Ono took legal action against the company and now they must change their name.
Starting in November they will be known as “On Lemon” instead, which we think sounds even more like John Lennon, but that’s not important right now.
Ono’s lawyers claim the company was “abusing and misusing the legacy of John Lennon to sell their soda” by infringing the trademark of her late husband’s name and his personal rights. Ono was seeking $6,000 a day in damages and $600 from each drink sold.
It seems as though Yoko will “Let It Be” if the company sells all of their John Lemon drinks by October 30th. It’s nice that they were able to “Come Together” on a decision. Now if someone could just get her to stop singing.
