R.I.P. Coffee Coolatta

Dunkin’ Donuts is killing a Summertime favorite, the Coffee Coolatta. I can still remember my very first Coolatta. It was the Summer of 1998, chocolate raspberry flavor. A refreshing blended coffee drink with whipped cream and a hint of fruit and cocoa. I will have to admit, it has been quite awhile since I’ve enjoyed one. Some mixed with Oreos, others fruit and lemonade. This is a treat you would think would always be there. Until now. Dunkin’ Donuts has announced they will all be gone in the next few months. I haven’t been this sad since Fred the Baker was retired in 1994.
Replacing the Coffee Coolatta will be the “Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee,” and “Dunkin’ Energy Punch.” Dunkin’ will also reportedly test a new coconut cream pie iced coffee, a pink lemonade, mango pineapple tea, blackberry tea, and a caramel shaved ice espresso.
We’ll give this newfangled coffee a try, Dunkin’, but please don’t let us down.
