Country Music Star Mel Tillis Dead At 85

One of the legends of country music has died. Mel Tillis passed away today after a long illness. He was 85.
Mel’s career spanned 6 decades and recorded over 60 albums, including dozens of top 10 singles.
Tillis was named The Country Music Association entertainer of the year in 1976.
Mel is survived by 6 children, including country singer Pam Tillis, 6 grandchildren, a great grandson, and partner Kathy DeMonaco.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
