It has been quite the busy year for Beyonce.  Not only is she pregnant with twins, possibly being a voice in a new Lion King movie, and getting ready to pick up her Peabody Award, she also just created her very own college scholarship program for young women.  On the one year anniversary of her Lemonade album, Beyonce has started a college scholarship program for young women.

The “Irreplaceable” singer announced she would be funding 4 Formation Scholars in the 2017-2018 academic year, giving those selected the chance to attend college.  The announcement was made on the one year anniversary of the release of Lemonade.

The scholarships will be awarded to students who wish to study music, the creative arts, African-American studies and literature.

Beyonce’s announcement stated she was launching it to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident.”

Scholars will be offered funds to attend classes at Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College.
